Project Find Yourself Self Autonomy Workshops

Our self-autonomy workshops are one-day, 3 hour programs offered both virtually and in-person led by youth volunteers.
Although all supplies will be provided by Project Find Yourself, we request that shelters provide an open space to host the workshop.
In the case that the shelter is unable to host the event, we ask that the shelter provide the children transportation to/from the community center or park at which the program will be held.
Our workshops are divided into 5 main stations:
(1) How would you say no? [Slideshow Presentation on self-autonomy & Role-play]
(2) Why do you disagree? [Friendly debate activity]
(3) What are your preferences? [Goal setting on a big poster board]
(4) When do you say no? [2 worksheets that ask children to determine their responses in each situation]
(5) Who can you tell? [Making a feelings thermometer to express how they feel]
Each of the five stations builds on the mission of allowing children to become more comfortable with the idea of self-expression and saying "no" while learning how to formulate a logical reasoning for why they are saying no.
